The Application of LOINC in the Standardization of Laboratory and Observational Data in Chinese Hospitals by DHCtech was selected as the oral academic report of LOINC2023 Global Conference recently.

Based on the attribute information of 6 axes of LOINC, this study used natural language processing (NLP) technology and AI algorithm to intelligently segment the test item name, and deduced the standard name of the test through attribute fusion. According to the existing attribute information, DHCtech combined the new standard concepts with the specific naming rules, and the LOINC Chinese version database was built with the help of computer algorithm to assist the comparison program, which can effectively standardize the inspection terms with different statements and different writing methods in the records of clinical inspection items. To some extent, it lays a foundation for the future work of naming and coding standardization of testing indexes in domestic hospitals and Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.

At the LOINC Global Summit held in Annecy, France in 2022, Dr. Gong Meng Chun, Senior Vice President and Chief Medical Information Officer of DHCtech, introduced the significance of standardization of medical inspection data in emergency public health and the innovative practice of DHCtech, which was widely praised by the participating experts.

With the acceleration of the unification of health information standards in China and the promotion of information sharing in the field of health, the importance of introducing and popularizing international standards is becoming more and more prominent. At present, there is an urgent need for universal data coding of clinical observation indicators and laboratory inspection items in China, and LOINC can play an important role. It can effectively promote the exchange and sharing of clinical observation results, and better serve clinical medical care, outcome management and scientific research.

Logical Observation Identifiers Names and Codes (LOINC) is an international standard for identifying health measurements, observations and documents. LOINC database provides a set of common names and identification codes, which are used to identify the concepts of doctor's orders and results of laboratory test items and clinical observation indicators, aiming at promoting the interaction and sharing of laboratory test items and clinical observation indicators, and making them better serve clinical medical care, outcome management and scientific research. LOINC provides a common language for interoperable data exchange, which is currently used in more than 190 countries, mandatory in about 30 countries, and has more than 160,000 registered users.
